Alex took me to the orchestra.
The University of Birmingham Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius.
A wonderful hall with a less than full house;something I see rather too much of
myself these days. The day before yesterday we gave a FREE concert with the NASH ENSEMBLE OF LONDON, at Taplin and only 105 people showed up. That’s about half a house, and was the biggest crowd we’ve had in months.
A talented student, Theo Popov, has written an original opera, sung in Latin, for his thesis. We saw two hundred or so in Richardson for both performances. Sad. I will read any future posts on live music events, of whatever stripe, with special interest.
